That sign over yonder talks about noise abatement procedures for Runway 24. There are some houses directly off the end of the runway, so an immediate left or right turn is suggested. The wind had changed during the time I was eating breakfast in the little restaurant, so I had the opportunity to get some video from the other side of the runway.

"Payson traffic, Cessna 2078 Echo taking runway 24 for left departure to the southwest, Payson."
In this shot, you can clearly see the drop off. It was like taking off from a cliff! The ground just started falling away at about the time I hit rotation speed. This was my first experience with a runway that has such a pronounced slope. It was definitely different!

Here I am over the south end of the town of Payson, looking down the valley at Route 87 to the south. Just follow this back to the pass and hang a right...

I need to get a couple of more good scenes of the flight back over Phoenix. I couldn't get a good shot captured that didn't have a prop blade in it. Anyway, back to Glendale (GEU), here is an excellent shot of the Garden Lakes community just as I start my turn to base for approach to runway 01. In the distance you can see the Estrella mountains.

And here we are, short final for runway 01 at Glendale. This is also a fairly typical example of the washed out, low contrast type image typical of the desert areas.
